STEP 5

CREATE CONTENT

such as behind-the-scenes pictures, blog posts, videos, tutorials, etc. to showcase your products or services and make them more attractive to potential customers.

VISIBILITY = CREDIBILITY.

Now it's time to build and grow your Personal Brand.

Not your business brand (yet), your Personal Brand.

Why?

Because people who talk about what they do are more successful than people who are better at what they do but don't talk about it!

In other words...

BEING KNOWN
BEATS
BEING THE BEST

Because the more visible you are the more credible you become, and the more likely people will associate you as the go-to source for your offer.

This obviously (if you know me you know what's coming) involves....

yes..

wait for it...

creating content.

Especially, content that shows you're an expert in what you wanna make money from.

But where do you start?

Before we talk about what content to create, let's talk about what feelings it needs to evoke first!

PEOPLE BUY FROM WHO THEY KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST

KNOW "I know more about her than just what she does for a living"

LIKE "I can relate to her, she’s one of us"

TRUST - "I trust her, she’s competent and because I like her, I trust that she has my best interest at heart"

So how can you create content that build your Personal Brand?

You should mix “show”, “share”, and “tell” content.

  • Show content: Content that shows your work, such as pictures of you working with clients.
  • Share content: Sharing your thoughts and opinions about the industry or your product.
  • Tell content: Providing tips to your audience to position yourself as an authority.

Find a content format and platform that fits your personality and post content once a week on each social media channel.

EXAMPLE CONTENT IDEAS:

SHOW

  • behind-the-scenes videos/photos
  • how people use your products
  • clients who engaged in your services
  • wins/results of your offers
  •  "Day-in-a-life" vlog or mini-vlog working on your offer or with a client

SHARE

  • unique viewpoints around the industry your offer is in
  • professional & personal experiences within your industry offers / clients
  • controversial opinions around a trend your product is related to
  • personal stories that inspired you to create the offer

TELL

  • tips for others in your industry
  • tips for potential clients (that shows your expertise)
  • always think: "How can I teach people to do what I do for them?" Chances are they don't want to do it themselves but rather hire an expert (you) to do it for them

WHERE TO POST

Of course, you can choose your content format, but I would always recommend going with what works best on the platform you choose.

How to find the ideal platform:

Ask yourself

"Where are my ideal customers hanging out?"

Here's a quick rundown:

  • If your offer is high-ticket, targeted to companies or clients, then Linkedin is your place.
  • If your offer is lifestyle-related, Instagram would be a good place.
  • If it's a trending, or controversial offer then TikTok and Twitter would be great places (keep in mind TikTok is not the easiest way to convert for sales because it lacks the integrations for linking out to a conversion platform like a website or email).

Ask yourself

"Where do I already have a personal brand?"

If you already have a following on a specific platform, and people know you there for a while, it's a great place to post your content.

Got a podcast?

Interview a test client or document your product creation process.

Got some reach on Linkedin? Post a behind-the-scenes image or mini-vlog working on your offer.

People on Instagram know you already? Post updates of your test offer in your stories and share a mini-vlog to your profile.

Remember: Conversion takes time.

Sometimes people follow me for 9-12 months before they consider buying even a low-price offer of mine.

It's always easier to convert people who have been following you for a while than to try and convince strangers to pay you for your products or services!

REPURPOSE!

If you think multiple platforms could help you convert, repost your content across all channels. And by all I mean ALL!

You never know where you can catch your first (paying client)

LET'S TAKE ACTION

Brainstorm at least 5 idea for each column (show, share, tell) and each offer you chose.

This means if you picked 3 offers to test, you need to come up with 15 content ideas for each offer!

Then start creating 1 piece of content this week!

Do not overthink it.

Just start, post it, and see how people react.

And remember:

Done is better than perfect.
